I have always thought it is much easier to write sad songs than to write love songs. Here's an attempt at a love song. It is also one that uses guitar for accompaniment rather than piano. I am a better pianist than guitarist, but with a little creative scordatura (the G string is tuned to G-sharp) and my best attempt despite technical limitations and never really learning how to play the instrument properly, it will suffice for a song that only uses three chords (but not the three chords that most three-chord songs use). Whatever. Enjoy!

Title: "The
Time Is Now"
Written December 2008
Lyrics:
The time is now for you to see
Just how much you mean to me
And I don’t know what I’d do without
you
And I don’t know what I’d do without
you
The time is now; we’ve come so far
And I’m proud of where we are
And I don’t know what I’d do without
you
And I don’t know what I’d do without
you
It hasn’t been easy, but it’s sure been
fun
I know completely you’re the one (for
me)
And I don’t know what I’d do without
you
And I don’t know what I’d do without
you
The time is now; we’ve come so far
Scordatura? You are such a NERD! But remember, I'm totally into nerds, so that's really a compliment.
ReplyDeleteOne of my faves, I'm glad you posted this one.
PS - I'm really looking forward to you posting "I'm doing the best that I can." Another one of my favorites...
My gawd, that was beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't wait till I could listen to this one, and it is absolutely lovely. How lucky we are to be exposed to your work. Can't wait for the next one.
